AR500 Armor® Testudo Plate Carrier- Generation 2

Description

The Testudo™ Gen 2 Plate Carrier by AR500 Armor is the perfect carry solution for front and rear body armor up to 11″ x 14″ plates of any type.  The Testudo™ is the larger version of the Veritas modular plate carrier.  The cummerbund and shoulder straps are fully adjustable and accommodate large or medium body types.  The rugged side retention buckles and straps are removeable on each side and compatible with or without the cummerbund installed.  The carrier is constructed of 500D Cordura nylon and 3D Mesh Technology on the inner linings and removable shoulder pads which dramatically increases ventilation and air-flow for a cooling effect.  Inner plate retention straps on both pockets insure that the body armor plates ride at the right height for optimal vital coverage.

Dual pockets on the front of the carrier provide extra storage capacity and utilize Hypalon easy-to-grip pull tabs for reliable access.  The upper pocket has elastic divider retention straps while the lower is designed to accommodate a Kangaroo magazine pouch insert.

The Testudo™ cummerbund is fully adjustable for girth and larger frames.  The Testudo™ Gen 2 is side plate compatible by using the built-in cummerbund side plate pouches that accept 6 x 6”, or 6” x 8” side plates of any armor type.  The Testudo™ front and rear plate pockets are compatible with Trauma Pads and AR500 Armor’s Adaptive Plate Insert.  The Adaptive Plate Insert system allows the user to combine soft armor coverage with smaller 6” x 6”, 6” x 8”, and 8” x 10” hard plate body armor by securing the extra plate in most vital areas.  This reduces overall weight and improves movement flexibility.  Please see AR500 Armor’s website for more information and ask us about purchasing the insert with your carrier.  The Testudo™ Gen 2 is available in Black, Coyote, Olive Drab, and Multi-Cam colors.
