American Blast System’s Advanced Retention Ballistic Helmet is a sleek and lightweight NIJ Standard 0106.01 Level IIIA high-cut helmet which also offers upgraded features from their standard version helmet. The Advanced Retention helmet integrates a sizing system similar to the popular BOA retention dial. The system is designed to evenly distribute the helmet’s weight which results in more stability. The retention dial is easier to turn with less resistance than found on the standard helmet and it locks into place when not being used. The Advanced Retention helmet reduces bulky weight in the back portion and utilizes 12 internal impact pads versus 5 pads found on the standard helmet. Similar to the standard high-cut helmet, the Advanced Retention version has a reduced profile shell with a higher side rim than other common helmets such as the military PASGT helmet which covers the ears. This design is popular with Law Enforcement, Assault, and Special Operation Teams that need the extra clearance for various sighting devices, gunstocks, and headsets that do not typically fit under other competitor helmets. An adjustable 4-point harness with chin strap secures the helmet with a comfortable memory foam insert pad system. Night vision and side rail mounts allow for attaching hands free accessories. The helmet is available in Black, Green, or Coyote Tan colors.
